CRM Springs Eternal
Earlier this week I tuned into a fascinating webinar on "Social Selling - Sales 2.0" featuring Christopher Carfi (Cerado), Mark Woollen (Oracle) and Annake Seley (Phone Works). My Aha! moment was the concept of Social Media, which is based on sharing and collaboration, being counter to traditional Sales, which is based on a culture of competition.
As a PR/ CRM veteran for almost 20 years I have had the good fortune of working with some of the brightest minds in business - It's interesting to watch my profession (PR) evolve, as Social Media tools like blogging and Twitter are creating more opportunities to connect with people all over the world - As cool as these tools are, they are not a substitute for personal interaction. What strikes me most is that the very principles upon which CRM was founded in the 80s - listening to and putting people at the heart of your business is still the key tenant of success in business and in life - CRM Springs Eternal!
