Twitter definitely makes watching the Super Bowl much more fun. It seemed, at least among my circle, everyone was more interested in the ads than the game. However it was a GREAT game and yea! for the Saints!

I was talking to an IT executive and he was chatting about how difficult it was to raise awareness within the business side of what IT capacity he has and how much his organization can really take on. He mentioned that despite some IT demand management processes, it was tough to set expectations. I guess these days IT Operations faces a number of opposing priorities:
I spend several hours a week online reading the best online marketing blogs, and one of my favorite things to read about is online tools. There are thousands of amazing tools out there for the taking for everything. They cover many different areas including project management, to do lists, social networking, web design, blogging and almost anything you can think of.
...I disagree.
Putting your information security eggs in one basket by using only a vulnerability scanner in the name of PCI DSS or some "This site is secure" seal to test your Web security is one of the greatest ways to get yourself - and your business - in a bind.
I talk about this topic more in depth in this recent post:

SoCon 10 offered two breakout sessions after lunch. There were 12 to choose from in both time slots, so it was hard to choose, knowing that you’d have to miss the other 11 (22 total). For the first breakout, I selected “Turn Your Company Into a Content Machine,” led by James Andrews, Managing Partner at Everywhere, a strategic communications consultancy specializing in social media. James’ blog is at TheKeyInfluencer.com.
